I had a prospect account that was wondering if they could do more for their wheat crop this year. We chose this field to do a more in depth analysis on.

The field was originally fertilized for 65 bushel wheat. The grower stated they generally don’t get anything over that on this field.

With this field receiving over 12” of rain since May 1^st, we decided to send in soil samples and tissue samples to see what the available N is in the soil and get a snap shot of how the plant is uptaking nutrients.

The plan going forward for this field is to top dress N based on the results from the soil test. Only the middle to East side (best parts of the field) will be done and check strips left in a few spots.
